The EU AI Act now says AI-generated audio must announce itself as AI. But can a label survive being uploaded, compressed, and remixed across the internet — and can’t a bad actor just peel it off? A European Commission study tests four technologies — metadata, watermarking, fingerprinting, and forensic detection — and finds none passes alone. The fix is to stack them.
