We keep this simple: we collect as little as possible, we don't sell anything, and we don't track you around the web. Here's exactly what happens when you use this site.
YOUGOTTAUNDERSTAND is a project by Matt Strobel. Questions about your data? Email contact@yougottaunderstand.it.
We use Matomo, a privacy-friendly analytics tool that we host ourselves. It's set to run without cookies and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other websites. It counts things like page views and which episodes get played, so we know what's useful. This data stays on our server and is never shared or sold.
If you enter your email (and optionally your name) to be notified about new episodes, we use it only to email you about the show. Your details are:
You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or by emailing us. When you unsubscribe, we stop emailing you and remove you on request.
Audio is streamed from our own server. Like almost every website, our host keeps standard technical logs (for example, the fact that a page or file was requested) to run and secure the site.
The site is hosted with ALL-INKL.COM in Germany, under their standard data-processing terms.
You can ask us what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Just email contact@yougottaunderstand.it and we'll take care of it.
Some links take you to other sites — the original research papers, or our Signal group. Once you leave this site, their privacy rules apply, not ours.
