Making an AI Say What It Hears

When an audio AI turns a sound into a string of numbers, can we make those numbers speak? Researchers rewrite the unreadable code as plain sound-words — “dog,” “rain,” “engine” — and the human-readable version performs as well as, or better than, the original.
